The world-famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will make its long-anticipated debut in Brisbane in 2026, bringing its globally acclaimed spectacle to Queensland for the first time in its 75-year history.
Titled The Heroes Who Made Us, the show will transform Suncorp Stadium into a grand stage of music, colour, and precision on February 12 and 14, 2026. This will be the Tattoo’s only Australian stop, with organisers promising a production “bigger, better, longer” than its flagship event in Edinburgh, featuring more music, dance, and spectacle.
More than 1,000 performers and over 30 acts from around the world will participate, including the iconic Massed Pipes and Drums, Tattoo Dancers, and military bands from the UK, Europe, the US, and other countries. The Australian Defence Force will also be represented.
Queensland Premier David Crisafulli hailed the event as a significant achievement for the state.
“The Tattoo is one of the world’s most spectacular outdoor events, so attracting it to Queensland for the first time is no small feat,” Mr Crisafulli said. “From bagpipes to bugles, Queenslanders will experience the best military performances from across the globe.”
Tourism Minister Andrew Powell described the Tattoo as “a huge drawcard” that is expected to deliver substantial economic benefits, projecting up to $39 million in revenue for Queensland’s economy.
Having previously captivated audiences in Sydney and Melbourne, the Tattoo’s Brisbane debut marks a major milestone for the city and further cements Queensland’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class events.
The Queensland Government has not yet disclosed its financial contribution to securing the event.
