Bar Planet is marking its third anniversary with a unique twist on its celebrations — a one-off tattoo pop-up event on Saturday, May 17. Starting at 2 p.m., the tattoo experience offers fans the chance to get inked with exclusive designs inspired by the bar’s most iconic drinks and quirky details. Whether you’re already fully decorated with tattoos or considering your first one, this event promises to be a memorable occasion for all.
The tattoo pop-up will be led by Sydney-based tattoo artist Onnie O’Leary, known for her exceptional skills and artistic flair. Guests will be able to choose from a flash sheet of original designs, each reflecting elements that have become instantly recognizable to Bar Planet fans. Prices for tattoos begin at $100, but the lasting memories of getting a permanent piece of the bar’s culture might be priceless.
Some of the designs on offer include tributes to the bar’s signature aesthetics — from the bold, kaleidoscopic terrazzo bar top designed by David Humphries to the quirky bags of MSG-laced popcorn that have become a staple of the Bar Planet experience. Other options include wax-drenched candles and the off-menu Skyscraper martini, which is uniquely topped with a string of seven Kalamata olives.
Daisy Tulley, Group General Manager at MUCHO, the parent company of Bar Planet, shared her excitement about the event: “Over the years, we’ve received lots of martini tattoos in our Instagram DMs. We can’t believe Bar Planet has made its way onto our guests’ skin! It’s such a privilege and a joy to see how much people love the brand.”
This tattoo pop-up offers a rare opportunity for Bar Planet fans to commemorate their love for the venue in a truly permanent way. Whether you’re a regular patron or a newcomer drawn in by the event, this celebration promises to add a touch of inked art to the experience of enjoying one of Bar Planet’s famous martinis.
