Savannah Guthrie recently added a second tattoo to her collection, and this time, it was inspired by her children, Charley (8) and Vale (10). The TODAY anchor shared the special moment on The Drew Barrymore Show, revealing the touching backstory behind her new ink.
In celebration of the publication of her children’s book, Mostly What God Does Is Love You, Savannah got a tattoo featuring two tiny hearts. The twist? Her kids helped design the artwork — one heart was drawn by Charley, and the other by Vale.
“It’s so great. Really pretty,” Savannah said, clearly proud of the heartfelt design.
This marks the second time Savannah has gotten a tattoo with Drew Barrymore. In 2023, the two friends solidified their bond by getting matching tattoos. Savannah’s first tattoo was a tribute to her late father: the words “all my love,” written in his own handwriting. She explained that the phrase came from a love letter her dad wrote to her mom. “This is the first time in my life, I’m 51 years old, that I’ve ever wanted a tattoo,” she shared at the time.
Her TODAY colleagues were quick to gush over the new tattoo, with Jenna Bush Hager calling it “so sweet” and Dylan Dreyer marveling at the sentiment.
Jenna, who is close to Savannah and serves as the godmother to her daughter Vale, jokingly played jealous after hearing about the new tattoo. “I just got another piercing with Scarlett Johansson,” she quipped, pretending to make a call to the actress.
Savannah’s tattoos reflect her family bonds and personal milestones, with each piece holding deep emotional meaning.
