In celebration of Pride Month, a Gresham tattoo studio is teaming up with a local LGBTQ+ nonprofit to create an affirming, artistic, and inclusive space for the community.
Brow Babe Studio, owned and operated by tattoo artist Sarah Wolfe, will host “Ink Euphoria”, a flash tattoo event running from June 1 through July 1. The event is a collaboration with Identity Euphoria, a nonprofit organization that supports and uplifts LGBTQ+ individuals across Oregon and Washington.
“As an organization, we love partnering with local, small businesses and showcasing affirming folks in our community,” said Brit Allen, Co-Founder of Identity Euphoria. “We want other queer people in Oregon and Washington to know where the safe spaces are to shop, eat, have fun, and receive services — like getting a tattoo or their brows done.”
Celebrating Identity Through Art
The flash tattoo sale will feature more than a dozen specially designed tattoos reflecting LGBTQ+ themes. These include frogs, rainbows, affirming slogans, queer symbols, and iconic imagery that celebrate Pride and personal expression.
Wolfe, whose work is often described as gender-affirming and healing, says the partnership was a natural fit.
“I chose to do Ink Euphoria after meeting Brit, when we were doing an interview, and the subject came up about how my work is often gender affirming,” Wolfe explained. “It is a healing process that goes more than skin deep. I am so grateful to provide my clients a real difference in their appearance, confidence, and life routines.”
Wolfe recommends placing flash tattoos on the arms or legs, where the designs can be easily applied and proudly displayed.
Community Reception with Coffee, Crafts, and Tarot
To kick off the collaboration and give the community a chance to connect, Brow Babe Studio will host a community reception at its studio, located at 35 E. Powell Blvd., Gresham, on Thursday, June 19 at 5:30 p.m.
The event will feature:
-
Coffee and light refreshments
-
Tarot readings
-
Craft activities
-
Information about Identity Euphoria’s mission and programs
-
An opportunity to socialize and meet affirming individuals in the local LGBTQ+ community
“Events like this are what build our sense of community,” Wolfe added. “I’m really looking forward to seeing returning people and also meeting new people as the event grows. I love that we now have annual moments like this to look forward to in Gresham.”
How to Get a Tattoo
