by Jessica

SAIC Motor’s Roewe brand has officially unveiled the production version of its M7 DMH plug-in hybrid sedan. Revealed through a series of images on June 16, the model closely follows the “Pearl” concept car first showcased at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show and is slated for release in the second half of the year.

Designed by Josef Kabaň, former Head of Design at Rolls-Royce, the Roewe M7 DMH marks the Czech designer’s first mass-production project since joining SAIC. Positioned as a medium-to-large sedan, the vehicle measures 4,940 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,510 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The curb weight is listed at 1,670 kg.

Under the hood, the M7 DMH features SAIC’s fifth-generation DMH hybrid system. It combines a 1.5L internal combustion engine with a peak output of 82 kW (110 hp) and 135 Nm of torque, with an electric motor delivering 137 kW (184 hp) and 330 Nm. The vehicle boasts a pure electric range of 150 km and an estimated comprehensive range of 1,000 km under the CLTC standard. Battery capacity details for the lithium iron phosphate packs have yet to be disclosed.

Stylistically, the M7 DMH carries over the signature design elements of the Pearl concept. The front fascia features a large vertical chrome grille with slim headlights and a chrome-accented bumper, creating a prominent waterfall aesthetic. At the rear, the design is finished with a full-width LED taillight assembly, hidden exhausts, and a ducktail spoiler, complemented by chrome details that mirror the front.

From the side, the sedan maintains conventional door handles and showcases chrome-trimmed side skirts, window surrounds, and multi-spoke alloy wheels. Interior details remain under wraps, with more information expected ahead of the official launch.

The Roewe M7 DMH is a significant entry in SAIC’s electrification strategy and reflects a growing emphasis on design innovation as Chinese automakers expand their influence in global markets.
