Studio555, a Nordic tech startup with offices in Stockholm and Helsinki, has raised €4 million (approximately $4.6 million) in seed funding to develop a game-inspired platform aimed at democratizing interior design.
The funding round was co-led by HOF Capital and Failup Ventures, and attracted investment from several high-profile figures in the gaming industry, including Timo Soininen (Small Giant Games), Mikko Kodisoja (Supercell), and Riccardo Zacconi (King).
Founded in 2023 by CEO Joel Roos and former King executives Stina Larsson (CTO) and Axel Ullberger (CPO), Studio555 is developing a “playable app” that allows users to design and customize interior spaces through an intuitive, no-code interface. The app is designed to blend gaming mechanics with creative tools, making interior design more accessible to casual users and hobbyists.
With the new funding, Studio555 plans to accelerate product development, grow its 17-person team, and gear up for a commercial launch in Europe and the United States by 2026.
“The goal is to remove the technical barriers of interior design and create an immersive experience that anyone can enjoy,” said Roos. “By combining the visual appeal of gaming with the creativity of home design, we’re opening the door to a broader audience.”
Studio555’s vision reflects a growing trend in consumer tech that merges play, personalization, and practical utility, aiming to reshape how people interact with design in their everyday lives.
