Set to take place from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20 at RAF Fairford, this year’s event will feature more than 200 aircraft from around the world, in what is billed as one of the world’s largest military airshows.
‘Eyes in the Skies’ Theme for 2025
The 2025 theme, “Eyes in the Skies,” will highlight the critical role of aviation in surveillance, reconnaissance, maritime patrol, airborne early warning, search and rescue, and signals intelligence.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the airshow’s move to RAF Fairford, with a new heritage centre set to debut on the showground to commemorate the milestone.
A Global Aviation Spectacle
Visitors can expect aerial displays from favorites such as the Red Arrows and the Spanish Navy Harrier, along with lesser-known aircraft that align with this year’s theme. Crews will be available to speak with attendees about their aircraft and careers in aviation.
So far, over 130,000 tickets have been sold across all three days, with Saturday tickets sold out well in advance, highlighting growing interest since the show’s return after COVID-19.
“Demand for our event has been incredible,” said Paul Atherton, CEO of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.
“Aircraft from all over the world will be taking part, and their crews will engage with the public. If you’re still hoping to attend, I encourage you to book quickly.”
More Than Just Air Displays
RIAT offers much more than flying demonstrations. On the ground, attendees can explore a vast static aircraft display, the Techno Zone with interactive tech exhibits, and the Inspire Stage, which showcases talks from astronauts, engineers, TV presenters, and even a robot dog.
“RIAT is not only a celebration of aviation—it’s an educational platform,” said Dr. Kevin Stenson, Director of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.
“The Inspire Stage will include live lessons and inspirational speakers to spark young people’s interest in STEM careers.”
Supporting the Next Generation
Proceeds from RIAT support the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, which funds initiatives to inspire young people to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)—especially within aviation and space.
