“Ink in the Alley” Returns to Hattiesburg as Part of FestivalSouth 2025

FestivalSouth is bringing back one of its most vibrant and visually compelling events as Ink in the Alley returns on June 7, 2025. Presented in collaboration with the Hattiesburg Saenger Theater and the Hattiesburg Pocket Museum, the event celebrates the art of tattooing with live demonstrations, flash tattoo opportunities, and an array of visual art.

Now in its second year, Ink in the Alley promises an expanded experience for both tattoo enthusiasts and newcomers.

“This year, we’re adding a brand-new element—live on-stage tattooing,” said Wes Pilgrim, Event and Sales Coordinator for the Saenger Theater. “It’s a rare chance to watch professional artists in action, offering an educational and entertaining experience for all.”

Event Details:

• Date & Time: Saturday, June 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

• Admission: Free entry (fees apply for flash tattoos or live tattoo sessions)

Featured Live Tattoo Artists – Saenger Theater Stage

Two artists will perform live tattoos onstage:

• Brandi Bruce – Swampwater Tattoo Shop, New Orleans

• Samantha Varner – Lady Luck Tattoo Shop, Hattiesburg

Flash Tattoo Artists – Saenger Theater

Guests can choose from custom flash designs offered by seven tattoo artists, each pricing their work independently:

• Jess Keuspert – Hattiesburg Tattoo

• Mannie Anderson – Ink Company Tattoos

• Anthony Washington – Ink Company Tattoos

• Robbie Wilson – Lady Luck Tattoo

• Anna Foley – Lady Luck Tattoo

• Mark Carithers – Marked Tattoos

• Courtney Collete – Inkk Culture Tattoo

Alley Artists – Pocket Alley

Fourteen visual artists will be set up in Pocket Alley to showcase and sell their art, stickers, and book future appointments. These artists will not be tattooing on-site.

Additional Attractions:

• DJ Miss Demure will provide live music throughout the evening

• Light concessions and a full bar will be available

• A Tattoo Contest will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the adjacent parking lot with five judged categories:

  • Best American Traditional Tattoo

  • Best Tribal Tattoo

  • Best Anime Tattoo

  • Best Arm/Leg Sleeve

  • Most Unusual Tattoo

As FestivalSouth continues its mission of spotlighting the region’s creative talent, Ink in the Alley offers a bold and interactive platform for one of the world’s oldest and most personal art forms.
