Teodor Milev, a talented tattoo artist, has embarked on an inspiring journey that has taken him from his native Bulgaria to the vibrant art scene of France, where his black and grey tattoo art has blossomed. His story is one of perseverance and the pursuit of artistic excellence.
Milev initiated his tattooing career in April 2000 in Bulgaria while he was still a student. Balancing his studies with his deep passion for tattooing, he dedicated himself to honing his skills. After completing his studies, recognizing the need for better opportunities to refine his craft, he made the challenging decision to leave his homeland. In late 2004, he arrived in France, a country with a highly developed artistic environment, hoping to make a mark in the tattoo world.
Upon arriving in France, Milev quickly found work in a tattoo studio. Over the next several years, he worked in various cities and studios across the nation, continuously learning and growing as an artist. Eventually, he decided to settle in Lyon, where, alongside his wife Morgane, he opened the ‘681 Tattoos’ shop. This establishment became a turning point in his career. In France, Milev had the privilege of meeting many renowned tattoo artists. He formed friendships with notable figures like Julien Thibers and Alix Gecele, who not only offered valuable help and advice but also accompanied him to numerous tattoo conventions. These conventions provided him with the opportunity to encounter artists from around the globe, significantly enriching his artistic experience.
For Milev, France has been a land of artistic growth and opportunity. His journey from Bulgaria to France showcases his determination to succeed in the tattoo industry. Through hard work and the support of fellow artists, he has been able to develop his unique black and grey tattoo style. Today, at ‘681 Tattoos,’ Milev continues to create stunning tattoo artworks, leaving a lasting impression on the French tattoo scene and inspiring others with his remarkable story of artistic evolution and success.
