Warren-Alvarado-Oslo School District Unveils Refreshed Logo Design

by Jessica

The Warren-Alvarado-Oslo School District has officially adopted a refreshed logo package, marking a significant step in its ongoing efforts to strengthen its brand identity.

The School Board approved the new logos during their June meeting, concluding nearly six months of development aligned with the district’s 2021–2026 Strategic Plan. A key goal of the plan is to positively brand, market, and represent the district across all platforms.

The updated logo addresses previous challenges related to image quality, consistency in usage, and ownership rights. Rather than introducing an entirely new design, the Board opted for a logo refresh earlier this spring. This approach preserved core elements of the district’s identity—such as the established colors, mascot, and symbol—while giving the logos a more professional and modern appearance.

Maintaining the primary colors of orange, white, and black, the refreshed design also introduces a comprehensive color palette featuring vibrant orange and muted grey as accent colors. The district sought input from students, staff, and parents on the three most recognizable district symbols: a pony, a horseshoe, and a combination of both. The final outcome designates a refreshed combination of the pony and horseshoe as the district’s primary logo, with the updated pony serving as a secondary logo.

In addition to the logo update, the district has developed its first-ever brand guidelines, ensuring consistent use of all brand elements. These guidelines are complemented by a cohesive brand stationery package, which will unify the district’s visual presence.

With extensive construction underway following a successful bond referendum in November 2023, the new brand package will create a consistent visual identity across programs, teams, and facilities. Residents can expect to see the refreshed combination logo prominently featured on the new gymnasium floor, official WAO orange walls, and the updated pony logo in classrooms and offices.

Current logo variations will remain in use through June 30, 2025. Starting July 1, 2025, the district will fully transition to the refreshed logos, retiring previous versions and adhering to the established brand standards.
