Wrexham AFC’s rise to the EFL Championship has sparked a fresh wave of tattoo tributes from devoted fans. Following their 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic last month—securing a third consecutive promotion and a place in the 2025/26 Championship—supporters are celebrating their pride in permanent ink.
Local tattoo artist Dave Griffiths of Taylor Made Tattoo Studio on Ruabon Road reports a noticeable uptick in Wrexham-themed tattoo requests. “There’s been a couple of bookings recently that are promotion-specific, which I’m really looking forward to doing,” he said.
Griffiths, a Liverpool fan who grew up in Wrexham, has tattooed numerous club-related pieces over the years, including portraits of star striker Paul Mullin and designs blending club imagery with tributes to local heritage such as the Gresford Colliery.
“Even though I support Liverpool, Wrexham is my hometown and the club’s a big part of my family,” he said. “It’s been amazing to see lifelong, new, and international fans come together. It’s huge for the town.”
With the club’s success inspiring a renewed sense of community
