Tattoo Studio Targeted by Vandal for the Second Time, Police Launch Investigation

by Jessica

For the second time, a tattoo parlor situated on the west side of the city has fallen victim to vandalism.

Upon arrival at the Nite Owl Tattoo Studio, located on the 1800 block of Fredericksburg Road near Zarzamora Street on Tuesday morning, employees were dismayed to discover damage to their front door.

Monica Marquez, speaking on behalf of the establishment, revealed that the break-in occurred during the early hours of the morning. This incident marks the second time the shop has been targeted, with the previous occurrence transpiring last Easter. Despite the presence of security cameras, the storefront’s lights were switched off at the time of the intrusion. Footage captured by the cameras depicts a shopping cart, believed to have been utilized by the perpetrator, left behind at the scene.

An additional business owner, who opted not to appear on camera, corroborated Marquez’s account, confirming that the shopping cart had indeed been employed to inflict damage upon the door.

While law enforcement authorities launch an investigation into the vandalism, Danny Nichols, the maintenance worker responsible for the complex, highlighted the escalating issue of homelessness in the area.

Nichols lamented the unsanitary conditions resulting from individuals engaging in their activities on the premises, necessitating cleanup efforts by himself and others. He expressed concern over the adverse impact on local businesses, noting a growing reluctance among patrons to frequent the area due to these challenges.

In response to the repeated incidents, the Nite Owl Tattoo Studio has resolved to enhance its security measures. Despite the setbacks, the community has rallied behind the establishment, offering support to rectify the damages incurred.

Marquez expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community, citing instances such as a tattoo raffle organized by the owner. The overwhelming response, including the rapid sell-out of raffle tickets, serves as a testament to the community’s solidarity and encouragement, fueling the resolve of the studio to persevere amidst adversity.
