The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda will host the 2025 Swan One Design World Championships from June 17 to 21, welcoming 35 teams from 30 countries competing across four one-design classes. The event will mark the competitive debut of the ClubSwan 28 class alongside the established ClubSwan 36, 42, and 50 fleets.
“The Swan One Design Worlds highlight the energy and camaraderie of the ClubSwan family,” said Luisa Bambozzi, Managing Director of ClubSwan Racing. “Porto Cervo provides the ideal setting to combine world-class racing with vibrant shoreside activities.”
Defending champions will be on the water in several classes, including Mamao in the ClubSwan 36 division and Nadir in the ClubSwan 42 fleet. Notable competitors in the ClubSwan 50 class include Leonardo Ferragamo’s Cuordileone and Marcus Brennecke’s Hatari. Meanwhile, the newly introduced ClubSwan 28 class will vie for its inaugural Gold Cup with seven teams entered, including youth team NOX OCEANI, helmed by 13-year-old Giorgio Nocella.
Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor Swan, emphasized the event’s spirit of community: “This regatta represents the unity and international spirit that defines the ClubSwan family.”
The championship schedule features eight races per class, with the ClubSwan 28 competing in ten races. Mistral winds are forecasted to provide ideal conditions for the final days of competition.
Social events will complement the racing, including class dinners, an owners’ reception at YCCS, and a prize-giving ceremony on the final Saturday. The ClubSwan Academy will continue its youth development efforts, offering young sailors competitive platforms to hone their skills.
Founded in 1966 in Pietarsaari, Finland, Nautor Swan has been a leader in high-performance sailing yachts. The company expanded into the superyacht market in 1999 and now builds vessels across three lines: ClubSwan, Swan Yachts, and Maxi Swan Yachts.
