Brooklyn, who has famously amassed an impressive collection of tattoos, many of which are tributes to his wife and family, has now taken a drastic step in his personal ink journey—by covering up a tattoo he originally got in honor of his mother, Victoria Beckham. The tattoo in question was the phrase “mama’s boy” in a typewriter-style font, placed over his heart. It was an iconic tribute to his close relationship with Victoria, but now the words have been covered by a tattoo of Nicola’s wedding bouquet.
This move comes after Brooklyn had already shown his deep devotion to his wife by tattooing tributes to her and her family on his body. He has portraits of Nicola on his upper arm, her eyes on the back of his neck, and even their wedding vows inked across his body. Brooklyn also has Nicola’s name on his neck and the couple’s double-barrel surname on his stomach, a decision he made as a gesture of honoring her family.
Brooklyn’s tattoos aren’t just limited to his wife, though. He has also honored Nicola’s late grandmother, Gina, with multiple tattoos, including her name and her favorite prayer, which Brooklyn etched on his torso.
Though Brooklyn and Nicola seem to share a deep bond, the removal of a tattoo dedicated to his mother hints at deeper personal tensions.
