Gage Goldberg, son of WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg, is embracing his father’s legacy both in and out of the ring.
Amid mounting speculation about Goldberg’s long-anticipated retirement match, his son has taken a symbolic step to honor him by getting a matching tattoo. Gage revealed on Instagram that he now bears the same tribal tattoo as his father—an iconic symbol that has become synonymous with Goldberg’s wrestling persona.
The tattoos appear on opposite arms: Gage’s on his right, Goldberg’s on his left. The original design ranked No. 14 on WWE.com’s list of the top 20 tattoos in company history.
Talk of Goldberg’s in-ring farewell has intensified following WWE’s recent announcement of an Atlanta Takeover weekend this July, featuring three events. Speculation points to Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 at State Farm Arena as the likely stage for the retirement match, possibly airing on NBC.
In a recent interview on The Claw Pod with Marshall and Ross Von Erich, Goldberg confirmed one detail about the event: “There is one thing I can say about my match — I will be proudly led out by my son.”
Gage Goldberg has appeared on WWE television multiple times and currently plays college football at the University of Colorado. His father’s most recent match took place in February 2022 at Elimination Chamber in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where Goldberg lost to Roman Reigns in a WWE Universal Championship bout.
As the Goldberg legacy moves toward a potential final chapter in the ring, it’s clear the next generation is already making its mark.
