Danish Postman Honors Jupp Heynckes with Tattoo as a ‘Thank You’ for Treble Victory

by Jessica

Jupp Heynckes, the legendary manager who led Bayern Munich to an unprecedented German treble last season, has earned the admiration of fans far beyond Bavaria. Among those fans is Danish postman Niklas Dini, who holds the recently-retired coach in such high regard that he decided to permanently honor him with a tattoo of Heynckes’ face on his calf.

The 26-year-old Dini spent €200 to have an image of Heynckes’ astonished expression inked on his leg, accompanied by the message “Danke Jupp” (“Thank you Jupp”), the club motto “Mia san mia” (which loosely translates to “we are who we are”), and a large star signifying Heynckes’ record-breaking achievements.

When asked by German newspaper Bild why he chose to tattoo the face of the 68-year-old manager, Dini simply smiled and explained his deep respect for the man who brought glory to Bayern Munich.

Dini’s devotion to the club is not limited to this latest tattoo. He already has numerous Bayern-themed designs, including images of the DFB Pokal, the Champions League trophy, and the Bundesliga shield floating through space on his arm. His chest also bears “FC Bayern” in bold lettering, and he has inked 23 stars on his body—one for each of Bayern’s Bundesliga titles.

For Dini, these tattoos are more than just fan expressions—they are a tribute to his love for Bayern Munich and the legendary figures, like Jupp Heynckes, who have helped make the club what it is today.
