Nicholas Choy, a tattoo artist residing on Robb Street, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday to answer to charges of break and enter and larceny.
Choy pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
According to police, the incident occurred on Monday, May 12, at the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) daycare and preschool facility located on Croal Street, Brickdam.
Choy is accused of unlawfully entering the premises and stealing multiple items with a total estimated value of $277,200. Among the stolen goods were a microwave oven valued at $37,000, an industrial fan worth $25,000, three double-bed mattresses totaling $54,000, and a water dispenser valued at $25,000.
Additional items reportedly taken include a roll of garbage bags worth $1,200, a JBL speaker valued at $31,000, a small fan worth $9,000, a garbage bin valued at $19,000, and various school supplies valued at $77,000.
The matter has been adjourned as the case proceeds through the court system.
