A new addition to Diamond’s business landscape is making its mark — quite literally. Black Rock Tattoo, located at 2290 E. Division St., Unit B, officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 2, joined by the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce and Diamond Mayor Terry Kernc.
Owned and operated by Brandon and Hannah Plata, the studio promises a modern, welcoming environment that blends artistic excellence with small-town values.
“We’re a local, welcoming tattoo shop bringing high art to our small community,” said Brandon Plata in a press release. “We’re not your ordinary shop. We’re family-oriented, rooted, local, and loyal.”
Black Rock Tattoo offers a range of styles, specializing in American traditional, neo-traditional, fine line black and gray, portrait work, and color realism. In addition to tattooing, the studio provides permanent makeup services, with body piercings coming soon.
The shop operates Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering both appointments and walk-in availability.
“Brandon and Hannah have put their heart and soul into this new shop,” said Grundy Chamber President & CEO Christina Van Yperen. “When you walk in, you’re immediately impressed by the environment they’ve created and the incredible talent of their artists.”
With a mission to redefine public perceptions of tattoo studios, Black Rock Tattoo aims to serve not only as a destination for high-quality body art but as a positive, family-friendly presence in the Diamond area.
