Emma Chamberlain has always been an open book with her audience — and now, she’s writing her story in ink. From childhood memories to personal growth, the YouTube star and fashion icon has built a collection of tattoos that are as intentional as they are endearing.
In a candid moment during a Vogue “Get Ready With Me” video ahead of the 2022 Met Gala, Emma offered a peek at her growing tattoo collection. “So recently, I did get a lot of tattoos and I don’t know what’s happening,” she laughed. “They’re all on my arms, and I have a feeling I’m not going to stray away from my arms.”
And she hasn’t. Among her favorite pieces? A small, charming stuffed bunny — a nod to the toy she cherished as a child. “That’s him!” she said, beaming. “One of my favorites.”
For Emma, ink is about more than style — it’s about permanence with purpose. “I definitely made it a priority to have the tattoos be meaningful,” she told Vogue. “I felt that that would prevent regret. Whereas a stylistic choice, you’re more likely to be like, ‘Well, that’s not cool anymore!’”
While her tattoos speak to her personal milestones, Emma’s public life has been just as memorable. She made headlines at both the 2021 and 2022 Met Galas, not only for her fashion but for her viral interview with Jack Harlow. His playful “Love ya, bye!” caught her off guard, prompting a hilariously awkward “Love ya!” back before she turned to the camera wide-eyed, laughing in disbelief. The clip quickly became a beloved meme and a trending TikTok sound.
But growing up online hasn’t always been easy. In a December 2021 interview with W Magazine, Emma reflected on her digital upbringing and the pressure of being permanently visible.
“There are times when I want to go and delete it all,” she admitted. “But I also think that I’m taking myself a little bit too seriously in those moments. I mean, when I see other people’s content from when they were 16, I think it’s so cute.”
Still, the weight of her digital footprint lingers. “I’m very meticulous about everything, so the fact that there’s so much of me on the internet — a lot of it out of my control — makes me very anxious at times,” she said. “But I try to remind myself that it’s just not that f–king deep.”
Whether it’s her tattoos or her internet legacy, Emma Chamberlain continues to navigate young adulthood with humor, heart, and a steady hand on her own narrative — ink and all.
